The Location
Renfrew Victory Baths is located in the town of Renfrew near Glasgow. This atmospheric location was built in 1921 by Paisley based Architect Thomas Graham Abercrombie. The building of the baths was funded by Henry Christian Lobnitz who was an immigrant worker from Denmark. Henry started a partnership with his son Fredric Carl Lobnitz, and William Andrew Young in 1895. Henry died in 1901, but his son Fredric took control and developed the business. During the First World War Fredric devoted his whole time to service with the Ministry of Munitions, being the Director of Munitions for Scotland. For this he was Knighted. By the year 1921 the authorised capital of the company was £500,000, and in that year, Lady & Sir Fredric Lobnitz gifted the Royal Burgh of Renfrew, The Renfrew Victory Baths. The baths are still used today by the people of Renfrew as a leisiure complex.

It is believed that Renfrew Victory Baths is home to at least two ghosts that are still active to this day. Although previous paranormal investigation reports suggest that there are up to nine spirits that make themselves known. Staff working at the location claim to have witnessed the figure of a ghostly lady dressed in white. Staff have also claimed to witness the manifestation of a small boy that appears around the pool area. The boy died at the baths more than 80 years ago after a freak accident with a diving board. Other phenomena that has been reported includes inexplicable footsteps and the noise of whistling. There have also been many interesting voices captured on audio recording equipment that cannot be explained as well as light anomalies picked up on photographic equipment. Some of the staff refuse to go into certain parts on the building. Please join us for a night of paranormal investigation as we attempt to experience some of these occurrences for ourselves.
